Why Launch with Three Episodes?

Launching with three episodes is not just a random number; it’s a strategic move. Here’s why:

1. Variety for Your Listeners: Offering three episodes provides a good mix for your audience to understand who you are and what your podcast is about. It allows them to binge a bit and get a feel for your style and content.
2. Increased Exposure: Podcasting platforms love new content. By launching with multiple episodes, you increase your chances of being pushed out to potential listeners by these platforms.
3. Better First Impressions: If a listener doesn’t resonate with your first episode, giving them two more to listen to before making a decision can be the difference between gaining a loyal follower or losing them.

Episode 1: The Get to Know You Episode

Your very first episode should be an introduction to your podcast and yourself. This episode is about laying the groundwork. Who are you? What is your podcast about? Why should people listen to you? It’s your chance to make a personal connection with your audience.

Episode 2 and Episode 3: Dive into Your Content

The content of episodes 2 and 3 is where you start to showcase the value your podcast brings. Here’s a framework to help you decide what these episodes could be about:

• Episode 2: Choose a broad topic within your niche. If you’re a marketing coach, for instance, discuss general business and marketing tips. This broad approach appeals to a wider audience and hooks in those who might be interested in your broader themes.
• Episode 3: Get specific. Delve deeper into a particular aspect of your broad topic. If Episode 2 was about general marketing strategies, Episode 3 can focus solely on email marketing. This specificity shows your range and depth of knowledge.

Addressing Different Interests

The goal with the variety is to appeal to different facets of your ideal listener’s interests. Not every episode will land with every listener, and that’s okay.
